Eco-luxury a virtuous way of doing tourism
Today we talk about a theme that is particularly close to our hearts: sustainable tourism, a new way of conceiving hospitality, ecologically and socially responsible. There are now hundreds of luxury hotels all over the world that can offer high standards of service and unique experiences for a new way of living luxury in a sustainable way.
By now, the idea that an event or a sustainable trip is an experience with something less is totally outdated: proposing eco-sustainable solutions can only give something more and can enrich our travel experience, making it even more unforgettable. It is called "eco-luxury" and is much more widespread than you think.
Eco-luxury
Recent studies by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) underline how tourism can contribute to the achievement of the so-called 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations. These are 17 ambitious goals that define a global framework to end extreme poverty, to combat inequalities and to correct climate change by 2030, including tourism as an instrument of inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
With our work we travel and arrange travel for others, we choose destinations, experiences, we select local partners for our events, if we act responsibly we can strongly contribute to accelerating eco-sustainability. Foresteria Planeta - Menfi (Sicily, Italy)
This wine resort is nestled in the harmony of vineyards and olive groves in the countryside of Menfi, in Sicily, and strategically located on a panoramic hill, between archaeological sites and nature reserves. Argos in Cappadocia - Kapadokya (Turkey)
This is a virtuous example of enhancement of the historic site and respect for the local tradition: Argos, with its terraces, gardens and spa, emerges from the ruins of an ancient monastery and it extends along a network of tunnels and caves dating back to 2000 years ago! The resort stands on an abandoned neighborhood of Uchisar, on the hill opposite the Pigeon Valley in the heart of Cappadocia. The ambitious restoration project, which began 20 years ago, has brought to light living spaces that reveal the excellence of local architecture and craftsmanship: Argos is immersed in the history and culture of Turkiye. The Seki Restaurant-Lounge-Cellar offers a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional dishes, created with local products, many of which come from the hotel’s organic garden, which also has its own wine production, Argos Vineyards.
Sextantio and the “Grotte della Civita” - Matera (Basilicata, Italy)
The cultural project of urban conservation of the "Albergo Diffuso Sextantio - Le Grotte della Civita" in Matera is divided into 18 caves, some of exceptional size, and a common space in an ancient rock church. The whole complex is located in the oldest part of the Sassi, the Civita, overlooking the Gravina stream, in front of the wonderful scenery of the Murgia Park and its rupestrian churches. Staying in a cave is a unique experience, the New York Times has defined the Sextantio as "the most extraordinary destination in the world", the Times as "one of the ten most beautiful hotels on the international scene" and the Conde Nast Travel Guide has placed it among the one hundred most beautiful hotels on the planet... These are venues that have chosen to contribute to some of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, for example Objective No. 9 "Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation" or No 11 "Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable", or No 12 "Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns", but the list is much longer!
